He started playing the oboe with Jan Nováček in his birth town Netolice (South Bohemia). In 1990–1996, he studied at the Prague Conservatory with Bedřich Vobořil. During his studies, he won several prizes including second prizes at Concertino Praga and Czech Conservatories Competition in Kroměříž. He has taken part in many interpretation courses with renowned musicians, including Jean-Louis Capezzali, Maurice Bourgue, Thierry Cammaert, Günther Passin, and completed a three-month scholarship at the Toho Gakuen Orchestra Academy in Toyama (Japan) in 1998. He won the Yamaha Scholarship together with bassoonist Tomáš Františ in 2001.

In 2001, he graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in Jiří Mihule’s class and became the Laureate of the Prague Spring International Music Competition, winning the 3rd prize. In 2001–2002, he studied at Conservatoire of Paul Dukas in Paris in the class of Jean-Louis Capezzali.

He has played in PKF – Prague Philharmonia since the orchestra’s foundation in 1994 and has been teaching at the Prague Conservatory since 2004. As a soloist, he has performed with PKF – Prague Philharmonia, Prague Chamber Orchestra and Košice State Philharmonic Orchestra.
